Baby melts hearts listening to Mommy’s beautiful voice

Let’s face it, life with a new baby can be a tad bit stressful. There’s a constant flow of feedings, diapers, dishes, laundry, and everything in-between – usually done after a night of interrupted sleep. But even amongst the chaos, there are moments when all you have to do is look at your child, and everything is pure bliss.

A video that’s circulating the internet features a mom enjoying one of these special moments with her infant son. While holding him in her arms, she sings him a song about Jesus and gets the most precious reaction. Get ready for your heart to melt.

Singing to your child is a beautiful way to connect with them. While many parents sing lullabies and nursery rhymes, the mom in the video below chose to serenade her son with a worship hymn.

Michelle Figueroa-Cardenas is the mother in the video and she’s taking time to enjoy a peaceful activity with her son. She begins singing to him the classic, “Give Me Jesus.”

Michelle croons the lyrics:

“In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus”

The sweet boy looks up at his mom and smiles while she sings. It’s apparent he’s enjoying listening to her soothing voice and tune.

Looking at the baby’s happy expression and big bright eyes as he stares at Michelle hits you in the heart. It reminds you of how innocent little ones are, and how simple moments are oftentimes the greatest parts of the day.

“Give Me Jesus” is an old spiritual song that was later interpreted by Christian vocalist and songwriter, Juan Fernando Ortega. It’s one that’s quite powerful too.

With the voice of an angel, Michelle sings:

“Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You can have all this world
But give me Jesus”

Singing to a baby isn’t just relaxing, it’s good for them too.

According to I See Me!, there are many benefits to “infant-directed singing,” which is when we change our voice’s pitch, sing slower, softly move or rock, and typically keep eye contact with the little one

“Singing to infants strengthens the bond between parent and child, and helps regulate the baby’s arousal level—it’s sense of awareness and attention. By altering the baby’s mood, singing may help with feeding and sleeping, which in turn positively affect the infant’s growth and development.”

Since Michelle posted the video on Facebook it’s been shared more than 5,100 times and has hundreds of thousands of views. It’s gotten a lot of positive responses about how sweet it is.

If you’re a parent, there’s a good chance it could stir up some of your own memories from the days your children were this young. Whether you sang to them or simply talked to them in your arms – it’s these times that you never forget.

“Brings tears to my eyes. THANK YOU LORD FOR WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT. I USED TO SING TO MY CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE BABIES AND YOUNG, BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES.”

The love Michelle has for her son pours through in the video. But the way he stares back at his momma with the biggest smile on his face is just priceless. You can enjoy this gem of a video for yourself below!
