A 12-year-old ventriloquist has been taking the world by storm. She’s just a child, but her talent is much greater than her very young years. Plagued by shyness when she was an even younger child, Darci Lynne’s mother encouraged her to try ventriloquism. It sounds like a somewhat bizarre idea, but it worked for young Darcy and has led to much bigger things. Darci’s puppets and her talent for ventriloquism have helped her to reach out and connect with others, in her hometown, school, and now, the entire world. Her star is definitely on the rise.
Darci Lynne stunned the judges on her very first audition for ‘America’s Got Talent’ and even earned herself a ‘Golden Buzzer’ which meant she would automatically be allowed to compete in the live shows and avoid a few rounds of cuts. She never disappointed, and week after week she delivered brilliant performances. She’s not only an impressive ventriloquist with a commanding stage presence and relatable persona, but she is also an excellent vocalist, lending her singing talents to her cute puppets.
As you may remember, another ventriloquist with a similar act won ‘America’s Got Talent’ way back in 2007. Terry Fator may have gotten his start a decade ago on the reality competition show, but he has built a successful career that includes a long-running Las Vegas show.
Like Darcy, Terry also helps his puppets ‘sing.’ He’s a huge inspiration to the young star and performing on stage with her idol used to be only a dream—but now she’s had the chance. Terry brought his turtle, Winston, with him and Darcy performed with Petunia, the ‘diva bunny’ from her first audition. Together, they sang ‘Anything You Can Do’ and their incredible back-and-forth performance got a little competitive.
