Tiny songbird Victory Brinker enchants AGT audience with her beautiful voice

Victory Brinker somehow TOPS golden buzzer performance at AGT quarterfinals.
Victory Brinker captured American hearts and minds with her performance at the America’s Got Talent auditions, and her performance in the quarterfinals round isn’t likely to set any of them free.

Victory hit the stage in front of a backdrop of cherry blossoms drifting through the air, and her outsized voice filling the AGT auditorium with the ethereal sounds of opera.

“I’m going to make a prediction. You are going to be one of the biggest stars to emerge from one of the shows. You have a unique, special talent, and I think you are incredible,” said Simon Cowell.

“You deserve to be here,” added Sophia Vergara.

“You do have the most amazing gift. It almost sounds like it’s not real. It almost sounds like it’s not coming from you,” said Heidi Klum. “You are the cherry on top of an amazing night.”

“And who doesn’t love the cherries?” asked Howie Mandell.

The nine-year-old prodigy told America about herself at the auditions.

“When I’m singing, I’m happy,” she said. “Happy, happy.”

She’s got the talent of a great singer, too, as she demonstrated in the auditions with a mic-dropping performance of opera standard “Juliet’s Waltz, from Romeo et Juliette.

How was it received?

Let’s just say that she does not have the voice of a nine-year-old.

“I was not expecting that. You have the voice of an angel,” Howie Mandel said, presumably referring to the sustained, soaring high notes she hit throughout the piece, but also to the fact that a pigeon visited the set just a few minutes before.

“And a bird just flew in here!” Terry Crews said.

The performance ended with Simon Cowell milking the drama inherent in the adorable performer’s presence on the show. He called Crews to the judges’ table for a consult, leaving her standing nervously on stage before turning to her.

“We’re not going to give you a yes today,” he said to groans from the audience. “We’re going to do something else we’ve never, ever done on the show before.”

And with that, Cowell, Crews, and Mandel, along with judges Sophia Vergara and Heidi Klum, stood up and jointly pressed the Golden Buzzer to send her through to the live shows.
