Yona and Nina Tokayer had both been pursuing musical careers their entire lives and knew it was fate when they met on a balcony in Tzfat, Israel. They fell head over heels in love with each other right away and realized they would make an amazing couple both romantically and professionally, so they combined their solo musical endeavors and their names to form the lovely duo Yonina.
The musical duo has been sharing their music with the world for several years and sings both original songs and covers of some of their favorite songs. They collaborated on their first YouTube video and have been wowing audiences ever since. They play wherever the music takes them, including in their family car. Their personal lives are just as fulfilling as their professional lives, as they have two adorable children who appear frequently in their singing videos, including their baby girl named Ashira.
In a now-viral video from August 2016, the couple demonstrated their incredible vocal abilities as they sang along to a powerful, anthemic song while sitting in their car with Ashira. While both Yona and Nina had plenty of talent to show, it was their daughter who truly stole the show. As her parents sang, their baby girl was absolutely adorable, and everyone couldn’t get over how incredibly sweet she was. Throughout the entire car performance, Ashira couldn’t take her gaze away from her father and looked happier and happier as her parents continued to sing.
Yona and Nina have continued to showcase their love and their talent to the world through amazing videos of themselves singing some of their favorite songs alongside their adorable children Ashira and Achiya. They have garnered more than 18,000 followers on Instagram and over 64,000 subscribers on YouTube. One of their most popular videos to date is their cover of “One Day” by Matisyahu from August 2016. On YouTube, the video has been seen over 3 million times and has received over 33,000 likes.
While the musical capabilities of Yonina were no doubt the reason why people clicked on the video, it was the sheer adorableness of their daughter, Ashira, that kept them watching. As her parents began singing the song, Ashira happily sat in her mother’s lap while looking directly at her dad. As the song progressed, the baby began flailing her arms around excitedly, almost as if she was dancing, and smiled widely.
Since then, the family has continued to showcase their talents and their love for one another by occasionally posting pictures and videos on their social media accounts for people all around the world to admire.
